Miletus Tuttle letters, 1864.

The collection consists of two letters written by Miletus Tuttle with the 111th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The first letter, July 1864 from Vinings Bridge during the Atlanta Campaign, discusses James B. McPherson's death, Gen. John Bell Hood's command of the Confederate forces, and his opinion of Jefferson Davis. His second letter, from a hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana, discusses troops preparing to march (probably to Savannah, Ga.) and the shipment of all valuable goods in Atlanta to the North.
